Refreshing Raspberry Blend Green Smoothie

(from Everything Green Smoothies Book)

  • 1 cup watercress (it’s green so it is full of chlorophyll and disease fighting properties that will keep your immune system, brain, blood and bones running optimally)
  • 1 cup raspberries (fibre from the seeds and full of antioxidants like vit C)
  • ½ pineapple, peeled and cored (natural digestive enzyme)
  • ½ lemon, peeled
  • 1 ½ kefir (water kefir or milk alternative)
  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional to increase protein)

Blend all the ingredients and half of the kefir thoroughly.  Add remaining kefir until you achieve your desired consistency.  Drink a serving and place the rest into a mason jar in the fridge for later in the day or for tomorrow’s breakfast (shake before drinking though).
